Each and every lesson is totally different each and every week but based around the same syllabus. You will be constantly challenged and encouraged to develop and practise your skills to the best of your ability and there is always help on hand if you are struggling with a particular technique. You will not be pushed beyond your capabilities and the majority of injuries can be worked around simply by adapting the exercise.

Typical Training Session

  • Gradual warm up increasing in intensity to get the body ready for exercise
  • Total body stretch
  • Syllabus work including blocking and hand and leg combinations – practising these helps with fluidity of movements and reaction times
  • Technique work – punching / kicking sequences – breakdown and execution of new punches and kicks
  • Spot pad work - either centred around fitness and power or working on a specific technique
  • Kick shield work – either centred around fitness and power or working on a specific technique
  • Free time – this consists of practising self defence techniques, extra fitness work, stretching, one-2-one assistance with techniques.
    OR
  • Sparring (optional) – this is strictly controlled light continuous and points sparring both available to male and female members.
